How to Save Money on Parking at LaGuardia Airport

🗓️ January 07, 2026 | 👁️‍🗨️ 0 | 👤 BLOG USER

Do you know that people can easily pay more than $50 for parking at LaGuardia airport? They do this and justify it as just a convenience cost. And that’s not all. Business travelers can pay even more, and that too is per day for parking in the parking lot. That’s hundreds of dollars of money being splurged in just a week. Just for the sake of parking.

This is when we were at the parking station and realized what’s been going on. And we came to this: that airport parking in LaGuardia is not actually that costly. However, it has been designed, and the whole parking system of the airport is in a way to get the most out of the people. And since these people don’t know the actual game, they get ripped off.

But if you actually get to know the real system and how to bypass that, you’ll actually save a ton of your hard-earned money.

Over the past few months, we’ve been observing this and have been analyzing the best airport parking spots for travelers, whether they are casual travelers or business travelers.

We have come up with our own strategy and a super basic guide for travelers to save thousands of dollars in airport parking and avail themselves of the same top-notch quality service such as parking safety and convenience. And in this blog, we’re going to show you exactly how this works.

Let’s go!

Strategy #1: The Off-site Airport Parking Locations

This is basic, and yet it has changed everything. When it comes to off-site parking, they offer many affordable rates with the same quality services and free airport shuttles services available to take you to the terminals.

If site parking costs at LaGuardia can be as low as $10 with absolutely free shuttle services.

Let me say that again: For as low as $10 per day for parking, you get a reasonable parking service with safety and pretty much all the services like the official airport parking spaces.

Off-site facilities such as The Parking Station offer really affordable and reasonable prices for your airport parking and offer airport-level safety and security with free shuttle services to take you to your terminals.

Strategy #2: Public Transportation

Now this may sound too obvious, but it’s crazy how many people ignore this.

Taking public transport, such as the subway to LaGuardia Airport, can save you hundreds of dollars. But this is possible only if you do it smartly. And here’s the correct way to do it:

  • You first park your vehicle at the lot near the subway station. Make sure to vet the parking spaces and then make your decision for the right one. After parking, take public transport to LaGuardia airport.
  • Reach the airport, and off you go. It’s that easy.

But the most surprising part is that you get to save an immense amount of money. This is ideal for budget travelers. The key lies in selecting the best nearby parking space, such as somewhere close to Jackson Heights and Roosevelt Avenue. You could take the Q70 bus, which goes directly to LaGuardia Airport. It’s a 45-minute journey from door to door.

Strategy #3: Opting for Hotel Parking

This is probably one of the best options available out there. It’s super affordable and yet completely legal.

There are a number of hotels available at LaGuardia Airport, and many of these offer very reasonable park-and-fly packages.

These hotels can offer packages that offer a night's stay in their rooms and then 7 to 13 days of parking space. This is best for those who have early morning flights and those who travel to the airport from distant places. When you compare their packages to the official airport sites and spaces, you’ll be amazed at how much less these hotels cost with services and car safety available for your vehicle, with standards very similar to the airport parking spaces.

Let’s say you do not require a hotel room to stay in. Even then, you’re saving hundreds of dollars. Not to mention that you could get a comfortable place to unwind and relax before your flight. The best tip is to be on the lookout for the best hotel packages.

Strategy #4: Corporate Discounts and Deals.

Many people, surprisingly, are not aware of this.

If you work in a corporate environment and you need to head to the airport. It is best to first check out whether your company has any sort of deals and discounts with the airport or off-site parking facilities.

Organizations and companies often deal with these parking spaces. If you’re an employee in this company, you can avail yourself of this and can benefit from great discounts and benefits. Some of my friends did not know this, and when I told them, they checked and were amazed by the level of benefits and money they are saving with these corporate deals. One of my friends got up to 40% off at the airport parking facility near LaGuardia.

Here are some of the things you could check with your company:

  • Memberships, discounts, and deals
  • Parking benefits (with credit card)
  • Loyalty program partnerships with any airline

Strategy #5: The Corporate Discount Secret

Most people don't know if this exists.

If you work for a medium or large company, check if they have corporate rates with parking services. Many employers negotiate discounts of 20-40% with major parking providers.

Also check:

  • AAA membership discounts
  • Credit card parking benefits
  • Airline loyalty program partnerships

Some of the other bonus trips to consider would be booking in advance and then checking out other eleventh-hour deals and discounts. Most of the off-site facilities offer free cancellation, so you can leverage that.

Remember that it’s not only about the budget but also actually using every move smartly and strategically to save your hard-earned cash and avail yourself of the best benefits from this expensive system.
