People spend hundreds of dollars at the JFK airport. Not on food or on duty free shopping. Not even the coffees.
They spend hundreds of dollars on items they should have packed but did not. These items include a smartphone charger, toiletries, backup shirt and bag fee.
And here’s the thing: the costs of these items could have easily been prevented if only there had been a smart packaging strategy.
JFK Airport is not a small one. Nearly 62 million passengers are handled by it every year. This makes JFK one of the busiest airports. With such an amount of people coming in, a number of challenges appear which can be faced by any traveller.
Most travellers at the JFK airport do not understand this. This airport has a unique set of its regulations and bottlenecks which require a whole different packaging approach as compared to other domestic flights.
I have fled through JFK multiple times. I’ve personally gone through the wait times of TSA across terminals. I’ve also talked to some frequent international travellers . By doing this I’ve successfully come up with my own guide of smart packaging at JFK.
In this guide, you’ll get to know the packing tips before flying from JFK Airport.
Let’s go!
● JFK airport is not your ordinary airport, it’s one of the busiest international hubs. And here’s why it is different: ● There are 6 terminals with different security timings. These can easily range from 20 minutes to 2 hours.● There are weather delays which require longer stays at the airport. ● There is a requirement for re-screening in the case of international connected flights.● The food options available are limited inside the terminals. This is evident especially during the off-hours. ● Even if you do find food options, they are highly expensive. ● The ground transportation structure is highly complex. This adds more waiting and travel time.
The main thing is that travelling at the JFK airport comes with a number of challenges. The bigger the airport, the more time waiting and barriers you can face. And not packing smart can be a great disadvantage.
You need to pack your things before leaving for the airport in a way as if you’re going to have an extended stay.
